| We were shocked when we arrived at "Paradise" for our inaguration. An estimated 400 people were awaiting us, far more than we had ever encountered or were prepared for. They had a band, a soccer game, fireworks with dynamite and lots of happy people.
Phase one was bringing the water from the source to the village. That was completed in six months. Our goal for phase two will be to have "pilas" to all of the homes by our next visit in April or May.Max International was a key component in the funding
of this project.
Phasetwo is the icing on the cake. Providing water to a central spot in the village, in almost every case the soccer field, is a great thing! However, by bringing Pilas to each family, they are able to use the water in even greater ways! The pilas allow a family to bathe, shampoo, brush teeth, drink water, etc... It is a blessing that many of us take for granted. We have brought pilas to our projects in Oki, El Negrito and El Ocotillo and with the help of Max are committing to fund the pilas for the people of Paradise!
